The NEW Happy Little Life Photography

This post has been a long time coming! You may have noticed it’s been radio silence on the blog these last few weeks. Well, Frank and I have been working hard behind the scenes on a new look for the business and it has been an unexpected journey. Where we ended was not where we intended at the beginning of this process and it has truly been a labor of love. The day has finally come for the big reveal and we are so excited to share this piece of our heart with you!

When we officially launched our first website almost two years ago, it was more of a means to an end. We needed a way to get the word out about our business and a place to showcase some of our portfolio to prospective clients. After a while, we began to out grow our current platform. No matter how much we tried to update our website, it just didn’t feel right to us. After a while, we started to let it slide and began thinking through what a new website would look like. We started to focus our efforts on our social media accounts and the blog to keep moving forward in the meantime.

As we were considering a new “look”, we were also starting our Branding coursework through the International Academy of Wedding Photographers. We quickly learned that a brand is not just a “look”, but should convey the heart of our business. Whew…that information took this conversation in a whole new direction! Instead of worrying about how our photos would look on a new website, we began to focus on what the new website would convey about us and the heart of who we are as photographers. Not an easy task my friends!!

So after a few months of deliberating, we came up with a few ways to describe what we are trying to do as husband and wife photogs. First, you will see the logo looks a little different. We wanted to keep the fun (happy) vibe, but showcase a more sophisticated style.

Next, you will notice that we have chosen a few words to describe our purpose for the business and for our clients – authentic, joyful, and spirited. We want our clients to have an authentic experience. Not only in working with us but also through our images portraying our clients’ raw, real emotion and personality in our photos. Joyful is the next adjective because, well…we are happy little life after all! Our goal remains to fully capture the joy of a wedding day with both natural and candid moments throughout the day. And finally, spirited. We still want to incorporate that fun and energetic way of interacting with our couples and their families and friends. And that allows us to continue to capture the true spirit of the day!

We chose some of our favorite images to share with you throughout our website. And have brought over some of our favorite blog posts as well! Our commitment to bring you better blog content remains and hopefully after you check out our new look, you will want to come back to visit our blog and follow along with us on social media, too!

Finally, we wouldn’t be here today if it weren’t for all of you. We wanted to give a big welcome to our new friends and a HUGE thank you to all of our faithful followers from the very beginning. And a very special shout-out to our biggest fan from day one, Frank’s dad. This blog and new website is dedicated to him. We wish he could be here to see it.

Thanks for joining us on this adventure! Sending you all our love.

Xoxo,

A&FAuthentic Joyful Spirited
