We had the honor of photographing Wendy and Patrick’s wedding this past June. We had been excited for this day since first meeting this sweet couple over zoom…and then even more excited after meeting them in-person for their engagement session earlier this year. They are two of the loveliest people and we are so glad that our paths crossed along the way!

Their wedding festivities took us to two new (for us) locations – Mount Saint Mary’s University and the Gettysburg Hotel. The ceremony took place at the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception on campus at “The Mount”, the alma mater of the groom and a very picturesque location. The ornate details of the church helped provide the backdrop for some dramatic black and white images and the perfectly kept grounds gave us lots of spots for our couple and wedding party to pose for the camera. Wendy thought of every detail; from the perfectly coordinated color palette of mauves and golds, to her adorable shoes and stunningly elegant dress. The details were a photographer’s dream!

The reception brought us to downtown Gettysburg and the hotel which dates back to 1797. All was pretty low-key until the dance music started and Patrick turned into a dancing machine! Wendy’s family coordinated a Mexican wedding tradition called the snake train dance and we had a BLAST witnessing this tradition for the first time. We loved the energy on the dance floor that night!

And speaking of energy, I’m sure you know that Gettysburg has a bit of a haunted history. While there were no ghost sightings at the hotel that day, I did have a ghostly experience driving past the cemetery on our way to the hotel. Let’s just say that it resulted in us having an invisible houseguest for the last 2 months. But that’s a story for another day…
