I had the pleasure of connecting with Rachael and Will through Will’s father, who I worked with for years in my part-time job. Funny enough, we didn’t meet face-to-face until they showed up at our booth at a Frederick Wedding Walk event and surprised us! When we asked if they had a wedding photographer yet, they said “yes, you!” Cue the confusion… and then the excitement at getting to meet this sweet couple for the first time! Haha! From that moment, we knew we would enjoy their sense of humor as well.
Enter 2020 and the events that don’t need repeating! As September grew closer and the lockdown ended in Maryland, it became clear that Rachael and Will’s day would be able to proceed as scheduled. This couple put in place a very thoughtful process for identifying level of comfort/space needed for dealing with COVID by handing out color-coded wristbands (red = stay away, yellow = 6 feet, green = all good here!) and personalized facemasks to guests.
Pandemic aside, it was our first time returning to Stone Manor Country Club since their newly built indoor reception space. The weather that day was spectacular, including a perfectly cloudy September sky. And Rachael’s dress was perfection! I loved all of her details and the details of the entire day. It was truly a joy to photograph. And spending the day with their fun bridal party and family made the entire event breeze by.
It was our one and only big wedding that wasn’t postponed this year, and we were glad we got to spend it with Rachael & Will! Here are a few of our favorites from their beautiful day. And check out the rockstar vendor team listed below.
