Jackie and Jon / An Elegant Springfield Manor Wedding

Love. It’s why we are in this business. We believe in it and are so lucky that we get to witness it so often. It’s what gets couples to their big day and what kicks off their marriage strong. It is unique to every couple and that is what makes each love story so great.

Yet this love story that I am about to share can only be described as epic. She is from the United States and he is from England. They met in Sucre, Bolivia while traveling separately through that part of the world. And just like that their lives changed in an instant. They lived apart with long distances between them and also spent time living in each other’s country. Yet through it all, they grew stronger together as they fought for their love.

I first “met” Jackie last fall when she booked us for her wedding. She was beaming with excitement through the phone because Jon was arriving to the US in a few short weeks and they would finally be together in the same place again. We all met in person in March when we had the incredible honor of photographing their very private and intimate civil ceremony in Annapolis.

It didn’t take long for us to see the incredible love that these two shared. There wasn’t a moment when they took their eyes off each other as they took in the reality that they had finally made it to this day and were now husband and wife.

Fast forward to this past July, Frank and I got to celebrate all over again with Jackie and Jon. This time with an elegant wedding at Springfield Manor. Every detail was perfection. They wrote their own vows – hers were funny and his emotional, the opposite of their usual demeanor but done that way as a gift to the other. Their portraits may be some of our absolute favorites as Jackie could only be described as stunning…and also, lavender fields! The toasts lasted an entire hour – a testament to how much love surrounded them. Everyone wanted to share in the joy and emotion of the day! There was so much love between them and surrounding them. It was incredibly special.
