Caroline & Chris / A Romantic, Rustic Bethesda Wedding

Do you ever have those moments when you just know that you are in the exact right place at the exact right time? That’s how we felt at the Frederick Weddings Expo last fall when these two amazing people stepped into our booth. They had smiles that were infectious and such an easy way about them that we instantly felt connected. I remember turning to Frank to say that we have to get their wedding! Fast forward to the end of the expo event and we see Chris and Caroline quickly making their way to our booth after the winning ticket was announced for our raffle…and it was hard to tell which of the four of us was most excited that they had won our engagement session giveaway!

We shared some texts and emails over the months that followed and then decided to get together in-person to review their timeline a few weeks before the big day. That’s where we found out that Chris is from New Jersey (woot! woot!) and he is making preparations for the purchase of their future tiny house (Frank is so jealous!). And that’s where Caroline and I got to talk alllll the wedding details and realize that we were on the same page all the way. The conversation was so easy that I think we could have stayed there for hours with them. When we left the Starbucks, I turned to Frank and said that we have to make them our friends!

We showed up to their wedding day feeling like we were attending a wedding for old friends. Our hearts were bursting with joy as we saw Chris’s face when his bride walked down the aisle. Tears were rolling down my cheeks as they exchanged vows and watered a tree with water that was brought in by friends and family from across the US; for the tree that would take root in their first home together. The love between them and the love surrounding them was incredible to witness. But knowing what truly genuine and incredible people they are, it was no surprise that their day was filled with such beautiful emotion.

Chris planned the menu and cooked all the food for the event. It was the most delicious and beautifully displayed meal. His sister was the officiant and she spoke such warm and loving words over the couple. One of Caroline’s friends made the cake and another grew the flowers. The toasts were heartfelt and the dance floor was filled! It was literally the perfect day.
